Pitt is older than Walz by only three months and 19 days.
After U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris announced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate in the 2024 presidential election, Walz faced criticism across social media platforms for looking older than he is. As a result, a claim that Walz is younger than actor Brad Pitt became widely popular. One X post repeating the claim went viral, amassing more than 1.4 million views:
The claim was also spread on Facebook and TikTok, though it didn't gain near the level of viewership it had on X.
The claim is true. Although they are both 60 years old, Walz was born months after Pitt, making him younger. According to Britannica, Walz was born on April 6, 1964, and Pitt was born on Dec. 18, 1963. Using The Economic Times date calculator, we found that Pitt is older than Walz by three months and 19 days and their birthdays are 110 calendar days apart.
Harris, at 59, is only a year younger than her running mate. Interestingly, that means Harris and Walz will be the same age on Nov. 5, the date of the 2024 presidential election, as Harris turns 60 in October.
Walz is also younger than actor Tom Cruise, who was born July 3, 1962, making him 62 years old.
